DILG Bohol joined the City Government of Tagbilaran during the launch of the KADIWA ng Pangulo on October 24, 2024, at the Tagbilaran City Hall grounds. The initiative, aimed at supporting local communities and offering affordable agricultural goods, brought together various stakeholders, including representatives from the national, city and provincial governments.
During the event, DILG Provincial Director Jerome G. Gonzales underscored the importance of collaboration in ensuring the programโs success. Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap expressed her gratitude to the national government for bringing this program to the city, emphasizing the impact of KADIWA ng Pangulo on both farmers and consumers.
Exhibitors, including farmers, fisherfolks, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), showcased a wide range of agricultural products such as fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, and other locally sourced goods. These exhibitors are assisted by the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV), the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), and the City Government of Tagbilaran. Additionally, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region 7 offered Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka (BBM) rice at a subsidized price of PhP 29 per kilogram for targeted sectors, including persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, 4Ps beneficiaries, and senior citizens.
The KADIWA ng Pangulo will run until October 25, 2024.
